Thors comment:

"On this oval I have sculpted the Finnish thunder god Perkele who, in addition to lightning and thunder, delivered the necessary rain the farmers were waiting for. What could be a better theme on a pot than a life-giving god?"

  • About this edition

THOR EDITIONS is handmade, unique and numbered pots that are released once a month under a dedicated theme

"I am Swedish on my mother's side and Finnish on my father's side and Thor is the name of the Scandinavian god of thunder. In Finland, his name is Perkele, which is a nickname for Ukko, which Christianity later made synonymous with the devil. Hence the Finnish profanity "Satana Perkele!" To me he is like Thor the god of the people and the farmers. He rides across the thundering sky and lets the rain fall on the harvest and brings forth life. This month I have therefore devoted myself to sculptured pots with Perkele in mind. What could be a better theme for pots to house a tree than the life-giving god?"
