Thor Holvila 2406-06

Thors comment:

"Maybe it shows that I once spent a lot of time drawing comics. It was the only profession I could imagine when I was in junior high and I still take out the ink pen now and then. I like how the snake on this pot can be seen scurrying along, doesn't he also have a sly little smile? I chose to glaze the cobalt below as a representative of the sea, and turquoise above as a representative of the sky."

THOR ABOUT THE EDITION - "Sea Serpent"

"To live on the Swedish west coast, with the North Sea as a neighbour, is to be surrounded by blue sea and blue sky. On summer days like these, when you jump from the pink shimmering rocks into the salty endless sea, you can't help but be influenced by the blue vastness that is surrounding you. The Sea Serpent in north mythology (let´s not mention his real name) that is chasing its own tail in the depths of the sea has been the theme for this month. I remember how Thor the thundergod once set out to fish out the beast from the depth to interrupt its cycle, but failed. We learn that no one can stop the eternal movement of the universe. Ragnarök is not the end of times. It is the beginning of something new."
