"When I get pieces left over from cutting slabs, I sometimes make them into accents or slabs for kusamono. Often I also test different mixes of clay and glaze on these and sometimes they turn out as successful as this one. Unfortunately it is not signed, but a certificate of authenticity is included of course."

"There is a Scandinavian clay that is strong enough to stand up to the harsh nordic climate and that is primarily used for making roof tiles, as it is the clay that best resists frost and the strong wear and tear from the whipping Atlantic ocean. This month I have chosen to only work with Roof tile red and have chosen ash from my fireplace as the only glaze."
