Thors comment:
"When I visited Varnhem Monastery Church by Lake Hornborgarsjön, I was fascinated by the architecture. I learned that the stone pillars, which functioned as supporting legs, on the long sides were there to hold the walls that slopes outwards. This was done deliberately by the monks to get better acoustics in the church room. I love that the sound of chanting was allowed to take precedence over the practical. Right there and then I saw this pot in front of me. A raw design with the absolute most prominent characteristics of the ostentatious church building. However, I chose to make the walls slope outwards as I want it to work for a cascading tree. On one of the fronts I have suggested a vegetal pattern to remind us of the tree of life, the Yggdrasil of the Aesir."

THOR ABOUT THE EDITION - Ruins & Cherry Blossoms
"In early April, I made a pilgrimage walk between the monastery ruins in Varnhem all the way to the monastery in Gudhem. The path was lined with traces of my ancestors. The 5,000-year-old burial grounds at Ekornavallen, King Inge the Elder's 1,000-year-old grave at Hånger, the battlefields at Faris and the grassy ruins of the city of Sätuna. The raven followed me, but so did also the exuberant cherry trees in full bloom that lined my path. My fascination of the short-lived flowers of the fruit trees in contrast to the "eternal" stone monuments gave me the inspiration for this edition. And will continue to influence me for a long time to come."
