Thor Holvila 2504-13
Thors comment:
"When I received this round turned pot in porcelain-like clay from my partner Carina Jern, I didn't have an idea for feet, but I did have an idea for decoration. I wanted to create something graphic with red and blue engobes and let the chalky white clay shine through. All covered in a thick layer of transparent glaze."
* This pot is marked UTBY, after our kiln, as well as both of me and Carina Jern´s chops

THOR ABOUT THE EDITION - Ruins & Cherry Blossoms
"In early April, I made a pilgrimage walk between the monastery ruins in Varnhem all the way to the monastery in Gudhem. The path was lined with traces of my ancestors. The 5,000-year-old burial grounds at Ekornavallen, King Inge the Elder's 1,000-year-old grave at Hånger, the battlefields at Faris and the grassy ruins of the city of Sätuna. The raven followed me, but so did also the exuberant cherry trees in full bloom that lined my path. My fascination of the short-lived flowers of the fruit trees in contrast to the "eternal" stone monuments gave me the inspiration for this edition. And will continue to influence me for a long time to come."
