Thor Holvila 2504-15

Thors comment:

"On my walk from Varnhem to Gudhem I visited the blood stone (see pictures) in Hånger deserted cemetary. In ancient times people would place their sacrifices on top of these stones. Especially during fertility rites. I have therefore made a foot with a tube-like pot in a drilled granite stone from here on the West Coast to plant in. May fertility come to you."

* Note the two last photós with the stone wetted with water. Comes un-oiled.

THOR ABOUT THE EDITION - Ruins & Cherry Blossoms

"In early April, I made a pilgrimage walk between the monastery ruins in Varnhem all the way to the monastery in Gudhem. The path was lined with traces of my ancestors. The 5,000-year-old burial grounds at Ekornavallen, King Inge the Elder's 1,000-year-old grave at Hånger, the battlefields at Faris and the grassy ruins of the city of Sätuna. The raven followed me, but so did also the exuberant cherry trees in full bloom that lined my path. My fascination of the short-lived flowers of the fruit trees in contrast to the "eternal" stone monuments gave me the inspiration for this edition. And will continue to influence me for a long time to come."
