"My first thought with this edition was that it would have a "Raven" theme. I therefore purchased an extremely coarse black clay, which is originally adapted for large sculptures, and started with this large pot. I wanted the feet to feel like sleds on an ancient sled."

"When I started working on this edition, I planned a raven theme for it. But since spring came early, and the flowers with it, a plant theme crept in with leaves and flowers. When it was time to start glazing Sweden was hit by a massive snowfall - which is very unusual in May, and I was thrown back into winter as the chlorophyllous grass and the brittle flowers wilted and died. That's why you might find this edition a bit sprawling at first glance with black, white and bright colours mixed together.
Carina Jern and I have also expanded our collaboration with three pieces under the name "UTBY" (the name of our village and our kiln). These pots will be marked UTBY at the release."
