"It is certainly an Ume with flowers on bare branches that I had in mind when I decorated this pot. I love the contrast the intense red underglaze creates against the oxide black branch that extends over the natural brown undercolor which is the natural color of the otherwise brick red clay that turns brown when covered by a protective transparent layer of glaze. I love this pot. I can not vision what to plant in it though?”

”Yellow, purple, green and pink spots have appeared in the brown dead grass of last year and flowers are sprouting from buds on bare branches and are outlined against the light blue sky. Our clocks have been changed to summer time and the days are long enough to start spending time with neighbors and friends outdoors. The Scandinavian spring is here and it is reflected in this edition. The graphic sheet I made contains my ideas. As you can see, a few pots made the journey from the desk to finished pieces.”
