Thor Holvila 2607-13
Thors comment:
"I have fired this pot upside down to make the glaze flow upwards. The turquoise glaze has fine cracks that will darken naturally over time and give the pot a nice patina.”

THOR EDITIONS is handmade, unique and numbered pots that are released once a month under a dedicated theme
THOR ABOUT THE EDITION - ”Bag & Sack”
”During the month of July, I have dedicated myself to leaving rectangles and ovals to bring some of my first designs back to life: The Bag and the Sack. They are created from a sheet of clay that I folded and followed carefully during the drying process to maintain the shape. The organic and unique shapes are difficult to master as no side is as big as the others. It is about finding the eye for balance in the imbalance. In this edition there are also some of my first pots in this style dating back to 2014, (which then went by the name Caterpillar.) Some of them have been given my trademark styles, including the Skull corner, the Dragon Nidhögg and the crackled turquoise glaze.”
”Being an “Udda Fågel” in Swedish translates to “Odd Bird” in English and is a description of something/someone that stands out from the crowd. It is therefore a fitting name for this edition which consists of pots that have been created during the year but that did not fit into the monthly theme I have been working on, or have not been finished in time for the release date. I have chosen to release these during the month of June as that is the time of year when I am taking a week of work in the studio to go camping in the mountains to collect Norwegian Spruce under the midnight sun. I hope you find something you like among these extremely unique pots with several designs that see the first light of day.”
